Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman struck by a car in Cork died in hospital.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman struck by a car in Cork died in hospital.

The collision happened in the city suburb of Bishopstown on Tuesday this week.

At approximately 5pm the 82-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a car on Melbourne Road.

She was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital where she was pronounced dead yesterday evening. The driver of the car was uninjured.
