Flood warning in coastal regions

Met Éireann is warning of flooding in coastal areas this morning.

A band of heavy rain and high tides are expected in many areas this morning - and low-lying areas are at particular risk.

Cork City Council has issued a tidal flood alert until Sunday, while Dublin City Council has closed the Liffey Boardwalk.

Harm Luijkx of Met Éireann says the rain will clear later today, but will be back as the week goes on.

We will continue in this unsettled spell for the foreseeable future for the forecast range," he said. "Which means more wet and windy weather later in the week."
