Five Garth concerts a 'big ask' of residents, Croke Park boss admits
The Director of Croke Park has conceded that five concerts in a row is a big ask for residents living near the stadium.
Garth Brooks has sold out five nights in July, but locals had only agreed to three concerts being promoted in the stadium this year.
Gardai have confirmed that the Garda Commissioners office received a complaint from the Croke park street committee last Tuesday in relation to a number of upcoming events at the stadium.
Gardai say they are carefully examining that complaint.
Dublin City Council has yet to grant a license allowing the five sold-out nights of Garth Brooks to go ahead.
Speaking on Today FM's , Croke Park Stadium Director Peter McKenna said he's optimistic that a resolution can be reached with residents.
"I think when you listen to the comments that come back from resident's groups, I think five concerts in row is a big ask, and I think we certainly recognise that."
"What we need to do is respond in a way that's meaningful. In my view the event will go ahead, and the five concerts will happen in Croke Park in July."
