Gardaí have arrested five people and seized 50,000 tablets worth an estimated €500,000 in Dublin.

Gardaí have arrested five people and seized 50,000 tablets worth an estimated €500,000 in Dublin.

The operation, conducted yesterday afternoon, targeted a premises on the Crumlin Road, where four men aged in their 20s and 30s were arrested.

Follow-up searches at five locations in Tallaght and Clondalkin resulted in the seizure of the 50,000 tablets, believed to be Ecstasy, as well as the equipment and chemicals used in their manufacture. During one of the Clondalkin searched, a woman in her late 20s was also arrested.

The five people arrested are being held Sundrive Road, Kilmainham, and Kevin Street Garda Stations.
