First female president for Ógra Fianna Fáil

Ógra Fianna Fáil has elected its first female president.

Twenty-seven-year-old Kate Feeney was elected by her peers to lead Fianna Fáil's youth wing at the party's National Youth Conference in Sligo this weekend.

More than 500 young people attended the two-day event, which included debates and workshops on youth mental health, jobs and graduate opportunities, and the renewal of Fianna Fáil.

Ms Feeney joined Ógra Fianna Fáil as a first -year student in NUI Galway nearly 10 years ago.

She has pledged to mobilise members and increase the activity of Ógra Fianna Fáil at local and national level.
