There are almost 450 people waiting for a hospital bed in Ireland today.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has released its daily Trolleywatch figures which show that 352 people are awaiting a hospital bed, 352 are on trolleys while 92 are in overflow wards.

That brings the total number waiting to 444 with 47 of them in University Hospital Limerick.

The hospital with the second highest total is the Mater Hospital in Dublin with 38, while 34 are waiting for a bed in Cork University Hospital.
