A post mortem report into the death of Savita Halappanavar has concluded she died from septic shock but was other wise healthy.
The evidence was heard at her inquest which is now in its closing stages.
The post mortem evidence outlines that Ms Halappanavar suffered from multi-organ failure and died from septic shock on October 28th last.
A contributory factor in her death was the miscarriage of her baby at Galway University Hospital three and a half days earlier.
Otherwise she was a strong and healthy 31-year-old woman.
Expert witness Dr Peter Kelehan who reviewed the post mortem findings said it appeared to be a classic case of septic abortion which he has only come across 4 or 5 times in 40 years- and each time the patient had survived.
Praveen Halappanavar was not present for the evidence.
"Well, it would be very, very difficult for him, very tough," said his solicitor Gerard O'Donnell
"Certainly yesterday you were looking at him, it was taking its toll on him and he left.
"He will be here tomorrow for certain, and hopefully he'll be able to give some reaction then."
The inquest into the death of Savita Halappanavar last October has finished hearing evidence.
