A group representing evangelical Christians in Ireland has advised people to vote ‘No’ in the marriage equality referendum.
There are just ten days left until Irish voters go to the polls.
The Evangelical Alliance Ireland represents more than 500 churches across the country.
Nick Park the group executive director explained why he is against a change in the Constitution.
"We do not feel that redefining marriage is the best way to tackle the problem of discrimination," Mr Park said.
"We do not want to see anybody discriminated against, but we do not believe that actually changing the concept of marriage is the right way to go about it. We would prefer to see a beefed up civil partnership that treats all equally, whether they are heterosexual couples or gay couples.
