Euromillions winner jumps to No.96 on Ireland’s rich list.

Ireland’s newest lottery millionaire has collected a cheque for €94m – the second biggest EuroMillions prize in the country.

The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, called into the National Lottery offices in central Dublin today to pick up the life-changing win after splitting the €188m jackpot with someone in Belgium.

“I’m absolutely thrilled. Dreams do come true,” the winner said.

“The news is still sinking in so for the moment I’d like to keep the win private.

“I’m looking forward to thinking about all the opportunities that are now open to me. It’s a really exciting time”

The winner, who correctly matched five numbers and two lucky stars in the draw on Tuesday June 24, leaps on to number 96 on Ireland’s rich list.

The jackpot had been rolling since June 7 and was the second largest on offer in the EuroMillions game to date.

The National Lottery in Ireland has refused to release any details on the winner only to say that the ticket was bought in Dublin and that it will release the name of the store that sold the ticket at a later date.

There have been four jackpot wins since the EuroMillions game launched in Ireland in 2004, with Limerick woman Dolores McNamara holding the record for the largest win of more than €115m in 2005.
