A body has been found in the River Lee in Cork city.

The body was found at Kennedy Quay in the city during a search for a man who is believed to have entered the water on the western outskirts of the city last night.

According to RedFM News, Valencia Coastguard have confirmed the body is that of the missing man.

The search for the man in his 50s resumed at 9am this morning after the search was stood down last night.

He had been seen entering the river near the Anglers Rest last evening.
