EBS research reveals three-quarters of people saving money

Up to 75% of Irish people are actively saving money with the average amount being put into a saving account each month standing at €244.

However, new quarterly research by EBS shows the amount being saved each year is falling, with the average at just under €3000, while men continue to save more than women.

The study also found that one in three people said they are saving for something specific this year, with holidays topping the list.
