Dublin anti-water protesters due in court

A number of water protesters are due before the High Court later this morning over claims they have breached an order not to interfere with the installation of meters.

The company, GMC Sierra, say their workers have been harassed, assaulted and threatened in North Dublin.

They claim a number of protesters in North Dublin are in contempt of an order not to interfere, assault or intimidate workers installing water meters.

Last week, the High Court heard allegations a separate order providing a 20-metre exclusion zone around the works had also been breached.

Proceedings are being brought against a number of protesters.

At previous hearings demonstrators denied doing anything wrong and maintained that their protests were peaceful.
