Donegal hotel owner vows to stop breaching smoke ban

The owner of the Hollyrood Hotel in Bundoran, Co Donegal, has vowed that breaches of the workplace smoking ban will no longer be allowed on the premises.

The owner of the Hollyrood Hotel in Bundoran, Co Donegal, has vowed that breaches of the workplace smoking ban will no longer be allowed on the premises.

Customers of the hotel’s nightclub had been filmed smoking in a side room by undercover reporters over a period of several weeks.

Donegal football manager Brian McEniff said today that he did not run the hotel on a day-to-day basis, but accepted full responsibility for the breaches.

However, he claimed he had been unfairly singled out.

“I’m not out there to break the law and measures will be put in place to make sure that it won’t happen again, but I would be disappointed that, of all the hotels and public houses, I got all the major publicity,” he said.
