Defeated candidates to attend Fine Gael-Labour Cabinet meeting tomorrow

The outgoing Fine Gael-Labour cabinet will meet tomorrow afternoon, for the first time since the election.

The meeting will include at least three ministers who lost their seats in the last election.

Under the Constitution, the outgoing Taoiseach and Government remain in place until a new one is elected by the Dáil.

Tomorrow's meeting will include Fine Gael's James Reilly, who lost his seat in Dublin Fingal, and Labour's Alex White and Ged Nash who lost their seats in Dublin Rathdown and Louth.

Another member, Fine Gael's chief whip Paul Kehoe, is facing a recount before his seat in Wexford is confirmed.
