More than 300 people are on hospital trolleys today, according to the latest figures from nurses.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded, with 36 people waiting on a bed, 23 on trollies and 13 in overflow wards.
Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda has 29 awaiting a bed, while University Hospital Galway has 27.
