Custom's arrest man in possession of €80k

A man in his 40's has been arrested at Dublin Airport after being found in possession of almost €80,000.

A man in his 40's has been arrested at Dublin Airport after being found in possession of almost €80,000.

Customs officers made the discovery yesterday as the British national was about to board a flight to London.

A three-month detention order was granted at Dublin District Court this morning to allow officers to carry out further investigations.

So far this year Revenue's Customs Service have made 21 cash seizures at Dublin Airport amounting to around €750,000.
