A 25-year old accused of murdering his mother in Cork city last week has been further remanded in custody.

A 25-year old accused of murdering his mother in Cork city last week has been further remanded in custody.

Paul Horgan of Murmont Avenue, Montenotte, is charged with murdering Marian Horgan at the family home on Monday on November 28.

The student was charged last week at Cork District Court and was remanded in custody to appear again today.

He did not attend today's hearing. A letter from the prison was submitted to say that he was not fit to attend.

He was remanded in continuing custody until December 10.
