Locals in Stepaside in South Dublin will today form a human chain around their local garda station in protest of its closure.
The 34 gardaí stationed at Stepaside will be transferred to Dundrum Garda Station and all areas policed by Stepaside will fall under Dundrum and Blackrock Garda Stations.
The closure is part of the Government's plan to close 100 stations around the country - 95 closed on Thursday with the remaining five to be shut down in the coming weeks.

Sinn Féin representative Shaun Tracey appealed to the Government to reconsider their plan to close the station.
He also says everyone needs to show their support.
"We're hoping the community will come out in big numbers to support the rally," he said.
"It's a symbolic gesture that we want our station kept in Stepaside."
