Shannon Heritage has been appointed by An Post to operate and manage the GPO Witness History Interpretive Exhibition Centre in Dublin.

The visitor centre, which is due to open in Easter 2016, is currently under construction in the inner courtyard of the iconic building on O'Connell Street.

It is thought the €7m development will attract 300,000 visitors a year.

Shannon Heritage already manages seven visitor attractions in Clare, Limerick, Galway and Dublin.
