CIF predicts housing shortage in Dublin


The Construction Industry Federation has predicted a housing shortage in Dublin within a year.

The CIF has told the Sunday Independent that just 8,000 homes will be built around the country this year and it estimates that the sustainable demand for homes will be around 25,000 units a year.

It stated that the greater Dublin region will be affected first and the shortage could lead to another property bubble in some areas.
