The cost of placing one child in a crèche in Ireland amounts to around three months of the average annual wage, a survey has claimed today.
A nationwide survey from Newstalk 106-108fm showed that parents in Dublin and along the commuter belt pay the most for childcare.
The annual cost difference between the most and least expensive county was €4,368 per year.
Newstalk surveyed 130 crèches throughout the country and found that the average amount Irish parents pay for one child is €162 per week.
