Campaign to combat racism on public transport to launch today

A campaign to combat racism on public transport will be launched later today.

The National Transport Authority's anti-racism campaign will see them work with Dublin City Council and public transport operators in a bid to reduce the incidents of racism.

Teresa Buczkowska is the integration co-ordinator with the Immigrant Council of Ireland, and she has said there are two messages they want to get across.

"First of all that we want to celebrate the diversity of people working in public transport companies and the diversity of people using public transport in Ireland," she said.

"But we also want to make sure that people know that there is no room for racism or discrimination on piblic transport or in Irish society."
