The Cabinet will today consider the implications of An Bord Pleanála's decision to reject planning permission for the new national children's hospital.
Ministers will decide whether a Committee appointed to advise the Government on its next steps, should also examine an alternative site for the facility.
The Cabinet will also look at whether a second committee should be set up to see if there is scope for discussions with An Bord Pleanála to make sure that projects being developed are not rejected in their final stages.
