The body of a toddler who died on a transatlantic flight on Tuesday is due to be flown to the United States today.

The two-year-old girl was travelling with her parents and five siblings from Frankfurt to New York when she took ill and died.

The plane made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, where she was pronounced dead.

The family was among a group of 24 Eritrean nationals who were being taken to the US as part of a relocation programme.
