Aviva health insurance customers could have to dig deeper for their premiums.

It is reported today their prices are going up by an average of 13% next month, with some packages set to rise 20%.

A number of packages won't be affected in the move, which is set to be announced later.

According to the Irish Independent, the company is putting it down to the cost to insurance companies of the use of private beds in public hospitals.
