The Army Bomb Disposal Team has carried out a controlled explosion on a vintage grenade found in Cork.
It was uncovered by builders at a home in Aghada in this East of the county last night.
Members of the bomb squad took the weapon to an open green area before detonating it.
The grenade would have been used during the War of Independence, the Civil War and World Wars 1 and 2.
