ARAN: 'Don't kill the Late Late Show duo'

The Animal Rights Action Network have launched a campaign to save the Late Late Show lambs who were featured on a 'Lamb Carousel' on the show last Friday.

The group had described the segment as horrific and urged the public to boycott the show the next time it airs.

ARAN said they are trying to contact the Late Late Show production team in the hope of obtaining contact details for the farmer involved "so that we can come to an agreement to save the lives of both lambs and their mother".

They said: "ARAN would also urge the farmer involved to get in touch. Whilst ARAN would never want to prop up such an industry, which we are opposed to, we would be willing to come to some financial agreement to save the lives of the two lambs and their mother, with the aim of highlighting the plight of all farmed animals nationwide who want to live free from pain and suffering.

"Limerick Animal Welfare (LAW) would be happy to provide a safe, lifelong sanctuary for the animals."

ARAN’s John Carmody said he hopes that the segment last Friday night on the Late Late Show will make compassionate people across the nation think twice.

He said: "ARAN may not see eye to eye with some farmers, but we hope in this case we can meet and come to an agreement to save the lives of the two lambs and their mother, before they end up on someone’s dinner plate in the coming weeks."

He said he hopes people "will see these young babies value their lives just as much as any dog or cat, and that they want to live too".
