Accused too ill for court in Tom O'Gorman murder trial

A man accused of murdering his landlord in Dublin is still not well enough to come in court.

Italian native Saverio Bellante is being treated at the Central Mental Hospital after being charged with the murder of Tom O'Gorman two months ago.

Tom O'Gorman was found dead in his house at Beech Park Avenue, Castleknock in the early hours of January 12.

A post mortem revealed he had been beaten and stabbed to death.

Saverio Bellante, who is originally from Palermo and rented a room at Mr O'Gorman's house, was arrested and charged with his murder.

The 34-year-old was admitted to the Central Mental Hospital and was unable to attend a scheduled court appearance today.

The court heard the book of evidence in his case is almost ready and the matter was put back for another two weeks.
