A 16-year-old, charged with the manslaughter of another teenager, will appear in court in Mayo today.

A 16-year-old, charged with the manslaughter of another teenager, will appear in court in Mayo today.

Dovydas Jenkus, 17, was found dead by emergency services when they were called to the scene of an assault at Claremont Manor in Claremorris in the early hours of Saturday.

The youth who cannot be named for legal reasons - was arrested at the scene and appeared before a special sitting of Castlebar District Court and was charged with the unlawful killing of Mr Jenkus.

He has been released on bail pending today's hearing.
