Fourteen people have been arrested as part of an investigation targeting the sale and supply of heroin, cannabis herb and other controlled drugs in the Drogheda area.

Fourteen people have been arrested as part of an investigation targeting the sale and supply of heroin, cannabis herb and other controlled drugs in the Drogheda area.

The arrests, involving Gardaí and members of the Garda National Drugs Unit, follow a four-month covert operation.

The 13 men and a woman - ranging in age from 17 to 48 years- were arrested over the past 48 hours.

They are expected to appear before Drogheda District Court tomorrow morning.
