Louis Walsh to compete in Strictly Come Dancing
Louis Walsh is set to join 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The music mogul recently announced he would be stepping down as a judge on 'The X Factor' after the 10th series to focus on managing music acts, but he is to put his fancy footwork to the test after signing up to compete on the rival BBC One show.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: "I am going to be a contestant on 'Strictly Come Dancing'. But I am saying no more than that."
Former Spice Girl Mel C, who fell out with Louis in 2003, has hit out at the Irish star, claiming his decision to retire as a judge on 'The X Factor' will be beneficial to the show.
Speaking to Richard Bacon on Radio 5 Live, she said: "I think it would be a gain if he left, wouldn't it?"
Before adding: "What does he actually do?"
When Richard pointed out that Louis had managed successful boybands such as Westlife and Boyzone, Mel replied: "Sorry, he has done a hell of a lot for the industry. I take it all back."
Despite his dancing dream, Louis is unlikely to get a warm welcome from 'Strictly' co-host Sir Bruce Forsyth as the pair have previously been embroiled in a war of words, including telling the 85-year-old star he "shouldn't even be alive" at his age.
Louis previously said: "Brucie is too old. He's from a different era.
"He doesn't know anything about young people or modern entertainment. His time is finished."
The comments didn't go down well with the TV legend, who snapped back: "Louis Walsh said I should be dead by now. Can you believe that, from a jumped-up karaoke judge?"
