Enjoy the all-action ride in Blood Diamond

EDWARD ZWICK turns up the heat in Blood Diamond (Warner, €24.99, €27.99) with smuggler Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio) helping fisherman Soloman Vandy (Djimon Hounsou) track down his missing son and a large diamond.

Jennifer Connelly plays journalist Maddy Bowen who falls for Danny while checking out the story behind conflict diamonds in Sierra Leone.

Ignore Zwick’s heavy-handed politically-correct message and sit back and enjoy this all-action ride.

The single disc edition comes with director’s commentary, while the double disc version looks at everything from women journalists at war to following a diamond from discovery to shop, a Zwick focus on a crucial scene and a DiCaprio featurette.
