The ongoing political and social turmoil in Ukraine boiled over in the country's Parliament today as opposing lawmakers came to blows.
Fisticuffs broke out in in the house as tempers flared between far-right nationalist politicians and communists.
The fracas came after the Communist Party leader accused the government of cracking down on dissent.
"Two deputies from the Svoboda far-right nationalist party took exception to the charges by communist Petro Symonenko and seized him while he was talking from the rostrum," Reuters reported.
Ukraine remains under upheaval afer popular protests led to the ouster of pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych.
Russian troops subsequently took control of the province of Crimea and the region soon voted in a referendum to join Russia.The West has not recognised the vote or the annexation and has retaliated with sanctions against Moscow.
