Well, this is different.
Gone is the long, blond hair, statuesque figure and glitzy outfits.
Now Barbie has had a rather special makeover thanks to two artists from Argentina.
The artistic duo, Marianela Perelli and Pool Paolini, created the boxed dolls to represent religious figures from Catholicism, Judaism, Buddhism and Islam.
"In a world that rewards us all to think, act and feel the same", according to Marianela and Pool, so the duo are using the exhibition to reaffirm non-conformity.
Therefore, sporting an ensemble more befitting to a nativity scene, Barbie and her boyfriend Ken have been revamped for the artists' exhibition in Argentina next month.
The couple are set to display the results in an exhibition In Buenos Aires on October 11 in an exhibition called "Barbie, The Plastic Religion".
As you can imagine, they've sparked a bit of controversy, but the artists say their intention is not to offend any religion.
Marianela Perelli said: "We knew there might be some controversy with Mattel (the toy company that makes Barbie dolls) over the use of Barbie.
"But we never imagined we would have to ask permission to use the image of the Difunta Correa (a popular religious icon in Argentina).
"I had a call from the government of San Juan to tell me that I should have asked for permission to use the image, which is patented, I could not believe it."
