Slight decrease in November CPI figures

Consumer prices decreased by 0.4% in November according to the latest Consumer Price Index data released by the Central Statistics Office.

The most notable changes in the year were increases in Miscellaneous Goods and Services (+5.6%), Education (+4.7%), Transport (+4.1%) and Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco (+3.5%).

There were decreases in Communications (-4.4%), Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Other Fuels (-3.1%) and Furnishings, Household Equipment & Routine Household Maintenance (-2.9%).

The most significant monthly price was a decrease in transport, though prices have risen against recently, so that trend is likely to change when December’s figures are released.
