ISEQ breaks 7300 barrier

The ISEQ index of Irish shares broke the 7300 barrier today, rising 32.03 points to 7312.82.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares broke the 7300 barrier today, rising 32.03 points to 7312.82.

All the financials had a good day. The biggest riser was Irish Life and Permanent which rose 38c to €16.93. Bank of Ireland rose 10c to €13.40, while AIB was up 9c to €18.24.

Meanwhile, Anglo Irish added 12c to close at €12.52.

Pharmaceutical company Elan rose 33c to €11.56, nearly 3%.

High flying FBD suffered a heavy loss today, down 50c to €37.10 at close of business.
