300 jobs are expected to be lost when Eircom today announces a shake

up of its multimedia interests.

The announcement follows two weeks of speculation.

The recession in cyberspace continues to claim victims worldwide and Irish firms are certainly not immune from the setback.

When Eircom announces its review of its multimedia interests today, it is expected that 300 of the 650 jobs in the area will have been lost.

Reports this morning say the well flagged closure of the digital publishing firm Rondomondo will be confirmed and there will also be a linking up of Eircom.net and Indigo.

Staff will be briefed on the impact of the move when they arrive for work this morning.
