A woman claims she consumes up to 2,500 calories a night while she sleeps.
Lesley Cusack has had a sleep-related eating disorder for 30 years which causes her to chow down on various products such as soap powder, paint, cough syrup and raw potatoes.
“I’ve put alarms on my doors but I simply turn them off in my sleep," she said in the Daily Mirror newspaper.
“I broke several teeth the other night. It’s a matter of time before something more serious happens.”
Dr Paul Reading, president of the British Sleep Society, said: “A proportion of adult sleepwalkers eat and even cook.
"Weight gain and guilt are common consequences.”
