Drumcondra death

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the suspected murder of a man in Dublin.

The body of the man in his late 20s was discovered at an apartment on Achill Road, Drumcondra. According to The Irish Times, the man had been shot in what gardaí suspect was a drug-related murder.

August heatwave

Met Éireann has issued an advisory warning for warm weather ahead of a heatwave over the next few days.

The national forecaster said: "Ireland will experience a hot spell developing from Wednesday and continuing through the rest of the week and the weekend.

"Daytime temperatures will widely reach the mid to high twenties. Remaining uncomfortably warm overnight too."

Kerry stabbing

Two men have been arrested after a woman was assaulted in Co Kerry on Sunday evening.

It is understood that the woman, aged in her 20s, received stab wounds during the assault.

The woman was taken to Kerry University Hospital where she is receiving treatment for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Eviction notices

The number of eviction notices issued to renters increased by 58 per cent in the first half of the year, compared with the final six months of 2021.

According to figures from the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB), almost 3,000 notices to quit were issued between January and the end of June.

Most landlords are exiting the market because they want to sell their property, according to RTB analysis.
