Soccer

Liverpool have reduced Manchester City 's lead at the top of the table to one point after a 2-0 win over Everton. Goals from Andy Robertson and Divock Origi gave the bragging rights to the Red side of Merseyside.

Meanwhile, Brighton and Southampton have played out a 2-2 draw in their Premier League clash. James Ward Prowse scored twice for the Saints as they came from two goals down.

Burnley have picked up three more crucial points with a 1-0 win over Wolves this afternoon. The victory puts the Clarets a step closer to staying in the league next season.

A late goal from Christian Pulisic gave Chelsea a 1-0 win at home to 10-man West Ham. Craig Dawson was sent off for the Hammers after giving away a penalty but Jorginho missed for the Blues.

Elsewhere, Celtic restored their six-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership this afternoon with a 2-0 win away to Ross County.

GAA

Munster

Clare have beaten Tipperary in Round 2 of the Munster Senior Hurling championship.

Tony Kelly, Ian Galvin and Peter Duggan scored the goals as the Banner came out on top at Semple Stadium. The final score was 3-21 to 2-16.

Barry Heffernan and Ger Browne responded for Tipperary, but they are without a win in the championship this year.

Connacht

Galway have beaten rivals Mayo in the quarter-finals of the Connacht Senior Football Championship.

Johnny Heaney's first-half goal helped Padraig Joyce's team to a 1-14 to 0-16 win over their neighbours at MacHale Park. They will face Leitrim in the final four.

Leinster

Meanwhile, there were three games in the early rounds of the Leinster championship.

Louth are into the next round after beating Carlow 5-10 to 0-10.

Wexford will take on Dublin in the quarter-finals after the Model County beat Offaly 1-15 to 1-12. Veteran Ben Brosnan scored the all important goal for the homeside at Wexford Park.

Wicklow have progressed to the last eight after a 5-15 to 4-12 win over Laois.

Ulster

Donegal are into the next round of the Ulster Senior Football Championship, after beating Armagh by 1-16 to 12 points. Paddy McBrearty hit the back of the net for the home side.

Women's Six Nations

Ireland have been well beaten by England in Round 4 of the Women's Six Nations this afternoon.

The home side came away with a 69-0 victory at Welford Road.

Ireland's Shane Lowry and Ryder Cup teammate Ian Poulter will tee off their final round at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans 10 shots off the lead. They get their Sunday underway from 19 under par in a tie for 9th.

Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay of the USA lead by 5 on 29 under par.

Formula One

World champion Max Verstappen has won the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Italy.

He finished ahead of Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez, with Britain's Lando Norris third for McLaren.

Mercedes' George Russell held off a challenge from the team's former driver Valtteri Bottas for fourth place. Lewis Hamilton was back in 13th.
