Westmeath will take on Cavan in this year's Tailteann Cup final at Croke Park.

Two goals from Lorcan Dolan and a Ronan Wallace strike gave Westmeath a big win over Offaly in the second of the semi-finals played today. It finished Westmeath 3-22 Offaly 2-16.

Cavan booked their place in the decider after surviving a fightback from Sligo to win their semi-final at Croke Park by 0-20 to 1-14.

The final will take place on July 9th.

Ladies' football

Armagh and Meath have played out a nine-point all draw in Round 2 of this year's TG4 Ladies Senior Football Championship.

The All-Ireland Champions Meath were down by two points at half-time but battled back to share the spoils in Group B.

Elsewhere, Dublin beat Tipperary by 1-11 to 0-6.

Galway had no problems dispatching Westmeath 1-18 to 0-4 and Cork got the better of Donegal 2-12 to 1-10.

Mayo also recorded a 0-16 to 2-9 win over Cavan in Pearse Park.

Golf

Rory McIlroy is in a tie for 7th ahead of the final round of the US Open in Brookline, Massachusetts.

The Down man is just three shots off the lead on 1 under par. He gets his Sunday underway from 7.12pm Irish time this evening.

Seamus Power is the other Irish man in the field and is in a tie for 11th on 1 over par. He tees off this evening just after 6.30pm.

Will Zalatoris and Matt Fitzpatrick sit on top of the leaderboard on four under par with defending champion Jon Rahm one shot behind.

Meanwhile, Leona Maguire is in a tie for 9th ahead of the final round of the Meijar LPGA Classic in Michigan.

The Cavan native shot an impressive four-under-par third round of 68 last night to leave her 11-under for the tournament.

American Nelly Korda leads by one on 18-under.

Soccer

Lily Agg has scored a debut goal to give Ireland a lead in their international friendly with the Phillipines this afternoon.

The match is part of a training camp for the squad in Turkey. With five minutes to go in Antalya, Ireland is leading 1-0.

Vera Pauw's side are away as part of their preparations for their next 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup Qualifier against Georgia next week.

F1

F1 Championship leader Max Verstappen is on pole position for this evening's Canadian Grand Prix.

Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso will go from second, with Ferrari's Carlos Sainz third. Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton will be fourth on the grid.

Charles Leclerc, who is third in the season standings, will start from the back after being punished for excessive engine use.
