Diego Forlan will complete his move from Atletico Madrid to Inter Milan today.
The Uruguay international arrived in Milan last night and will sign a two-year contract with the Serie A giants.
"I would like to thank (Inter) president (Massimo) Moratti for this great opportunity," said Forlan on the club's official website, www.inter.it.
"I am very happy to be here and to play in a fantastic team like Inter.
"This is a great opportunity in my career."
The 32-year-old joined Atletico in 2007 from Villarreal and helped the Madrid outfit clinch the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup in 2010.
Inter were keen to lure Forlan to the San Siro to strengthen their attacking line following the sale of Cameroon forward Samuel Eto'o to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala last week.
"Eto'o? Samuel is an exceptional player and a great champion," said Forlan. "I am here to win at Inter.
"My aim is to play and to score as many goals as possible with my new team."
