Fifa to probe Rivaldo 'simulation'

Rivaldo faces disciplinary action for his over-reaction in an incident in the match with Turkey which saw Hakan Unsal sent off.

Rivaldo collapsed clutching his face after Unsal kicked the ball at him, while the Brazilian was waiting to take a corner, though he was clearly struck on the leg.

Fifa communications director Keith Cooper said a disciplinary commission will sit to rule on the incident.

Cooper said: "We have gone into the World Cup making it clear there will be a clampdown on simulation, which is Fifa-speak for cheating.

"If the disciplinary commission think there is sufficient cause they will take a second or third look at any incident and rule accordingly."

Rivaldo is likely to face a fine rather than a suspension.

Cooper confirmed the commission will not discuss rescinding Unsal's red card, saying: "That's not open to question, solely Rivaldo's reaction."
