Munster have been hit with a huge injury blow as the province confirmed that RG Snyman tore his ACL during the game against Leinster on Saturday.

The South African suffered the injury just seven minutes into his Munster debut. In a statement issued this morning, Munster said the lock will meet a specialist to discuss "surgery and management".

Johann van Graan’s side are already missing Dave Kilcoyne and Jean Kleyn due to injuries.

Kilcoyne suffered an ankle injury while Kleyn is struggling with a neck complaint. They will both be unavailable for the "immediate future".

ACL tears generally keep athletes out of action for nine months so Snyman is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Munster will be looking to bounce back from their 27-25 defeat at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday as they face Connacht at Thomond Park.
