Simon Zebo is readying himself for a return to the red of Munster next season, with the province and the IRFU confirming the news today.

The 31-year-old left Munster in 2018 to join French club Racing 92, although his try scoring record with the province remains intact.

Speculation had been mounting over recent weeks as Zebo's three-year contract in France neared its end, with earlier reports also linking him to English side London Irish.

However, earlier today Zebo tweeted a picture from his Munster days, seemingly confirming the return.

The Cork man tweeted: "à bientôt", meaning 'see you soon' in French, tagging the official Munster Rugby Twitter account.

Munster then confirm the news, tweeting: "Munster Rugby and @IrishRugby are pleased to announce that @SimonZebo has signed a one-year contract [and] will return to the province for the 2021/22 season.

"This co-funded contract will see Munster's all-time record try-scorer return home."

The return will also make Zebo eligible for selection in the Irish team, which will likely be a welcome boost for Andy Farrell's side following their third place finish in the 2021 Six Nations.
