Following Ciara Mageean's silver medal in the 1500m last night, team Ireland were hoping to land more medals at the European Championships tonight.

Sophie Becker, Phil Healy, Rhasidat Adeleke and Sharlene Mawdsley finished 6th in the women's 4-by-400-metres relay final at the European Championships.

The Netherlands, fired on by superstar Femke Bol took the victory and gold medal.

Louise Shanahan finished 8th in the final of the 800 metres in a time of 2 minutes 1 point 6 4 seconds.

Michelle Finn has finished in 14th place in the women's three-thousand-metres steeplechase in Munich.
