Manchester United have won the FA Cup after a 2-1 win over Manchester City in the final.

Goals from Kobie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho gave an under pressure Ten Hag a second trophy in two seasons.

Ireland striker Adam Idah scored the winner for Celtic as they defeated Rangers in the Scottish Cup final.


 


Former England captain Wayne Rooney has been named as the new manager of Championship club Plymouth.

It's his first job since being sacked by Birmingham in January after less than three months in charge.

Meanwhile, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has reportedly agreed a deal to become the new head coach of Bayern Munich.

 

Rugby

Toulouse have won the Champions Cup after extra-time with a 31-22 win over Leinster in London.

It is the third successive final defeat for Leinster.

GAA

Reigning champions Dublin have kicked off their All-Ireland group stage campaign.

Dessie Farrell's side are taking on Roscommon at Croke Park, where it's Dublin 0-10 Roscommon 0-09.

They're underway in the meeting of Louth and Meath, where it's Louth 2-02 Meath 0-04, while the game between Armagh and Westmeath has just thrown in at the Athletic Grounds.

Donegal and Tyrone renew their rivalry at 7.15pm in Ballybofey.


Kerry hurling manager Stephen Molumphy has stepped down from his role after three years in charge.

The Waterford man oversaw his team's 3-13 to 1-10 win over Meath in the Joe McDonagh Cup.

Molumphy lead the Kingdom to the final of the competition in 2022 but were pipped by Antrim in the decider.

 

Racing

The favourite Rosallion took the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh this afternoon.

Richard Hannon saw his mount come home first in the big race under the stewardship of Sean Levey.

Hannon's Haatem was second while River Tiber was third for Aidan O'Brien.
