Evan Ferguson scored the final goal in a 4-1 rout of Premier League newcomers Luton Town.

After a Luton Town penalty, Simon Adringa's goal restored Brighton's two-goal cushion to make it 3-1.

Dominic Solanke equalised for Bournemouth as they drew 1-1 against West Ham.

Bobby Reid put t Fulham 1-0 in front away to Everton.

Crystal Palace beat Sheffield United 1-0 at Bramall Lane.

In the 5:30pm kick-off, Newcastle United are currently 2-1 against Aston Villa.

Earlier, Arsenal got their campaign off to a winning start.

First half goals from Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka helped the Gunners beat Nottingham Forest by 2 goals to 1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Swimming

Mona McSharry and Daniel Wiffen are in finals action at the European Swimming Under 23 Championships at the National Aquatic Centre.

Both swimmers came home fastest in their respective qualifiers, and McSharry will go in the 100 metre Breaststroke final at 6 o'clock.

Wiffen is in the 400-metre Freestyle final just before 8pm.

Para Cycling

Ronan Grimes took silver in the MC4 Road Race at the Para-Cycling Road World Championships in Glasgow this afternoon.

The Athenry native was hoping to end his World Championship title, but lost out in a sprint finish to France's Kevin le Cuff.
