Uttoxeter under threat

Officials at Uttoxeter have called an inspection for 2.30pm on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s meeting.

Officials at Uttoxeter have called an inspection for 2.30pm on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s meeting.

Like most of the country, Uttoxeter has been hit by a heavy amount of rain in the past week and parts of the course are under water.

“We’ll have a look tomorrow,” said clerk of the course Keith Ottesen.

“We didn’t get much rain last night and it has improved significantly.

“We have been given conflicting forecasts so I’m not sure what to expect today but I think we have a chance of racing.

“We are not raceable at present but we will inspect in the hope that we can give another positive update.”
