Wicklow deaths may be 'murder-suicide'

The Co Wicklow village of Grangecon is in shock today following the deaths of an elderly couple and their adult son in an apparent murder-suicide.

The Co Wicklow village of Grangecon is in shock today following the deaths of an elderly couple and their adult son in an apparent murder-suicide.

The bodies of John-Joe and Mary Sleator were found yesterday at their home in the village near Baltinglass, along with the body of their 42-year-old son Pat.

Gardaí recovered two legally-held firearms at the scene and say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Post mortems are due to be carried out today.

The local parish priest, Fr Tommy Dillon, has said the family were very well-liked in the community.
